Ingredients

  • 4 eggs
  • ½ cup heavy cream
  • ½ cup coffee room temperature
  • ¼ cup white sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • ¼ teaspoon salt

Instructions

  • In a medium or large shallow bowl, whisk together the eggs, cream, coffee, sugar, cinnamon, vanilla, and a pinch of salt.
  • One slice at a time, soak the bread in the eggs for about 20 to 30 seconds per side. Set them aside on a plate or wire rack while repeating with remaining bread.

Notes

  • A rich bread such as brioche or challah is best for this recipe, but use any of your favourite bread.
